One day after Zambian Independence Day and the Annual Ella Sarra Memorial Tournament for women’s independence with the over 35’s playing in Kalingalinga, a football match in Munich between the Varsity, Alumni, Staff and Students from the Bavarian International School (BIS) was held to raise money for AOTB.
BIS Lions Coach & Tournament Initiator, Andi Pichler & BIS Board Chair, Marc Aghili made the first donations, and set the tone with a deep sense of positive energy, team spirit and good fun of playing together which was heart warming, despite the cold wind and showers. The penalty shoot out continued way past the official end time staff, students and Alumni sparring for the honours. #makefootballnotwar
The €430 raised on the day will go towards another academic & skills scholarship and a couple of FAZ football coaching certificates in Kalingalinga.
Thank You BIS Community🙏.
BIS Alumni student, professional footballer for Dijon FCO, & Finland, and Patron of Africa On The Ball, Katriina Talaslahti had sent a message of support to the community....
So the seeds were sown in the BIS community about the powerful impact of AOTB’s work changing lives through football. Katriina is rallying BIS as a Team to continue fundraising with a "BIS Walk to Zambia" as they aim to "collect" the 11,000 km this between Munich and Lusaka by walking, biking, swimming, running, playing sports together, or "Being On The Ball" with entrepreneurial fundraisers.
