Africa On The Ball x Skjeberg Annual Football Tournament

On the 14th of April, we proudly hosted our annual mixed football tournament at Kalingalinga Primary School Grounds under the theme: “Using sport to foster peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable societies”. The day celebrated the power of sport in uniting people and inspiring positive change.

Over the years, the tournament has become more than just a football event. It has created a safe and inclusive platform where boys and girls play together, encouraging teamwork, communication, social cohesion, and community development. Alongside the matches, our local partners also delivered important life skills sessions, ensuring that the impact extended far beyond the game itself.

We are especially grateful to ShopRite Zambia for donating 30 cases of water in support of the event. This marked the second time they have partnered with us, highlighting the importance of collaboration in creating meaningful and lasting community impact.

The tournament, held in partnership with Skjeberg Folkehøyskole and Africa On The Ball, brought together 18 teams from across Lusaka. From the group stages to the knockout rounds, the competition showcased incredible talent, passion, and determination from young players in our community.

Congratulations to Black Stars for emerging as tournament champions! Most importantly, the event once again demonstrated how sport can bring people together, inspire young talent, and strengthen communities.
