  3. Bernard’s Story

Can football change a life? Yes!

Bernard suffers from a growth deficiency condition and although he is the same age as most of the players of the team, he is significantly smaller. Despite his physical challenges he has a lot to contribute and is always the first to volunteer for tasks and activities. Bernard is welcomed onto the team by all and although he may be unable to take part in particular activities, he is an integral member of the team, making a great contribution to its success. Bernard helps coaches and managers with the organisational side of running the team and thus developing a range of skills that we believe will benefit him in the future and every day life.

Bernard is a bright, determined and hard working young man who is well aware that, on top of contributing to the success of the team, his participation aids the promotion of equality and inclusion for all in the process.
